OUTERLAND is a speculative fiction project combining human authorship with cutting-edge AI visual tools.

We're a small gang of creatives who love building worlds and developing stories. We've had extensive careers in the gaming and film industries, and we've seen technology reshape these fields time and time again. Now with the advent of AI, creative production is changing once more. We have decided to tentatively explore this new wave of tools and hopefully uncover their artistic value.

OUTERLAND is an organic space where we can share story ideas, surface fresh art styles, and play with a cast of characters we'd love to develop further. Interconnected narrative is key to this project, everything takes place in a complex hand-crafted alternative universe that we have rigorously mapped out.

At the same time, we are acutely aware that generic AI slop is overwhelming online media. We aim to navigate away from such output and push into AI's unique ability to reconfigure imagery in wild ways. However, we fundamentally believe that human imagination and craft are the engines that power creativity. To uphold this non-negotiable principle, we have integrated a few simple AI guidelines that protect and prioritize human input.
